(Nature) 2005 es el Año Mundial de la Física, en honor al annus mirabilis de Einstein, en 1905. En un número especial de Nature, publicado originalmente en 1921 y ahora disponible en Internet, autores que incluyen a Arthur Stanley Eddington, Hermann Weyl y H. A. Lorentz, e incluso a Einstein mismo, celebran la Teoría General de la Relatividad. Esta re-publicación contó con el apoyo financiero de la Confederación Suiza.

Albert Einstein había publicado su Teoría General de la Relatividad en 1915, una década después de la teoría especial. En 1919, la observación de un eclipse solar —de parte de una expedición liderada por Eddington y Frank Dyson— ofreció la primera evidencia que soportaba la teoría.
