Hola, tengo el juegazo fallout y al intentar instalarlo me dice que este juego no puede ser instalado bajo la version de windows que uso, uso el windows xp, significa que no voy a poder volver a disfrutar de este juegazo?

Muchas gracias de antemano y mis felicitaciones para la gente que participa en este foro, por hacer que para los poco entendidos en informatica, como yo, les resulte mas facil.

Para instalar fallout 1/2 en win xp:

1. First, create a folder for your game called fallout1/2 (ie c:\games\fallout1 or c:\games\fallout2).
2. Copy (CDROM):\program\win\falloutw.___ (Fallout 1) or (CDROM):\program\win\fallout2.___ (Fallout 2) to the folder you created and rename it to falloutw.exe/fallout2.exe.
3. Now you have four choices, depending on the installation size you want:
* Small Installation: Do not copy anything else.

* Medium Installation: Copy (CDROM):\master.dat (318MB) to your fallout folder (ie c:\games\fallout1 or c:\games\fallout2)

* Big Installation: Copy Copy (CDROM):\master.dat (318MB) and (CDROM):\critter.dat (150MB) to your fallout folder (ie c:\games\fallout1 or c:\games\fallout2)

* Humongous Installation: Copy Copy (CDROM):\master.dat (318MB), (CDROM):\critter.dat (150MB) and Copy the entire (CDROM):\data folder to your fallout folder (ie c:\games\fallout1 or c:\games\fallout2)
4. Create a text file in c:\games\fallout1 or c:\games\fallout2 called fallout.cfg or fallout2.cfg and add the following line to it, depending on your installation/game:

Fallout 1:
* Small Installation:

critter_dat=(CDROM):\critter.dat

* Medium Installation:

NOTE German version:
I just got word from fr33l that if you have the german version you also need to add:

language=german

under the [System] tab in the cfg file.


5. Next install the official patches for Fallout 1 or Fallout 2, it's easiest just to unzip/unrar them into the Fallout 1/2 folder.
6. Start the game by running the falloutw.exe or the fallout2.exe file.

You might have to enable the Compatibility mode to run the game, to do this:

1. Make a shortcut to the falloutw.exe or fallout2.exe file
2. Right click the shortcut, and select "Properties->Compatibility" and select either Win95,98

La madre de dios!!!! no se si sabre hacer todo eso jeje, te importaria explicarme un poco si no es molestia, esque no e entendido muy bien las palabras que has usado, lo siento pero mi conocimiento es muy basico, y te agradeceria, que me ayudases con la traduccion de fallout2 entiendo bastante ingles pero algunas jergas usadas me cuestan entenderlas, muchas gracias por tu dedicacion, un saludo.

vale, pensaba que era mas complicado, lo e hecho, pero nada me da este error. Could not find the master datafile.please make sure the FALLOUT CD is in the drive and that you are running FALLOUT from the directory you installed it to. he seguido los pasos que me indicastes a la perfeccion, incluso e probado con los parches 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, pero nada me da ese error, os agradeceria que me ayudaseis, gracias ah un detalle, cuando copio, el archivo FALLOUTW.___ y le cambio el nombre por Falloutw.exe, el icono cambia y me sale la cara de un hombre, eso es logico??

yo uso los dos fallouts en xp sin problemas pero recuerdo haberme metido en un archivo que nose si era .ini o .cfg y todos los parametros de directorios y eso estaban mal. por ejemplo ponia "master.dat = c:\games\fallout\data" y el master.dat lo tenia en otra carpeta y casi todo estaba mal. Revisa uno de esos archivos con el bloc de notas que quiza los directorios esten mal especificados. Saludos
