Buenas tardes.

Windows XP Users

Windows XP comes with a built-in image file viewer named 'Windows Picture and Fax viewer'. There is a chance that TIF files have been associated with a different program on your PC. To correct this, perform the following steps:

Ø Click here to download a sample single-page .TIF file. Save it to c:\

§ Open My Computer
§ Open the C: drive
§ Highlight sample1.tif by clicking it once
§ Once it is highlighted, point to it with your cursor and then hold down the Shift key and right click
§ Select ‘Open With…’ from the menu
§ Select 'Windows Picture and Fax Viewer' from the list
§ Make sure ‘Always use this program…’ box is checked at the bottom of the screen
§ Click OK
§ This will open the image in the Kodak Image Viewer
§ Close the image viewer. Test the new association by double-clicking on sample1.tif

Macintosh Users

Please note that a third-party Group 4 TIF file viewer may have to be obtained and installed on your Mac before you can view TIF files.

One freeware product that we have tested can be found here:NIH Image Home Page

Viewing .TIF files with Image Viewer

o To move from page to page, you can either use the Page menu or click on the ® arrow to go to the next page or the ¬ arrow to return to a previous page (if multiple pages).

o To enlarge view, you can either use the Zoom menu or the magnifying glasses to increase or decrease size.

Printing from Windows 95 and Windows 98
o Open .TIF file
o Select File | Print
o Click on Options button and change Print Format from the default of ‘Fit to Page’ to ‘Actual Size’.
o Click on OK (You will now return back to the print screen)
o Click on Print

You should only have to do this one time.
